LOCATIONS

Welcome to the world of mouthwatering delights, where the aroma of freshly baked pizza meets a laid-back, inviting atmosphere. Nestled in the heart of Corpus Christi, Panjo's Pizza has been serving the community since 1964, making it the oldest pizza parlor in town. With nearly 60 years of culinary tradition, it's much more than just a pizza spot—it's a cherished local landmark.

Located at 1320 Airline Rd, Corpus Christi, TX, Panjo's specializes in a unique brand of Italian-American cuisine, featuring not only delectable pizzas but also gourmet burgers and vibrant salads. Their signature dish, "The Works", showcases an explosion of flavors with its thin and crispy crust, topped with an array of ingredients including chopped onions, bell peppers, black olives, and various meats like pepperoni, Italian sausage, and Canadian bacon. A true feast for your taste buds!

  • Thin and Crispy Crust: Perfectly baked on a slate, the crust is praised for its crunch and the balance of flavors it offers.
  • Variety of Toppings: From vegetarian options to meat lover's delights, patrons can customize their pizzas with a choice of four, three, two, or just one topping.
  • Homemade Salads: Don’t miss out on the tossed salad adorned with homemade vinaigrette and bleu cheese crumbles, paired well with garlic toast.

While the flavors and quality of the pizza have consistently impressed, a few patrons have humorously recounted the quirks that come with the experience—long waits and occasional rudeness from the staff. Yet, there's something charming about the ambiance that keeps locals returning time and again. Rod M. recounts, “Nothing fancy, but great pizza,” highlighting the no-frills nature of the place that emphasizes the quality of their food over other distractions.

The vibrant community atmosphere—complete with friendly service and a nostalgic vibe—is a perfect backdrop for enjoying a family meal or a casual date night. Those who make the pilgrimage to Panjo's often leave not just with full bellies, but fond memories of the experience. My family and I have been regular customers at Panjo's for 30 years. This is the first time I've looked at the reviews, and I'm cracking up! Yes, the staff is and always has been verrryyy rude (some of these stories are killin me though )! Yes, there is and always will be a long wait. No, they rarely pick up their phone. YES they have the best pizza ever. Only the locals or "second home-ers" know the Panjo's lore. You just gotta laugh thru it and enjoy the pizza. Edit: turns out they have a new owner! Maybe it'll be even better! Don't change a thing other than the stuff mentioned above please

The pizza was sooooo good here! We got the works which I felt was resonably priced. For a large it's about 21$. The place is pretty big and spacious enough room to not feel like you are on top of each other. The service took a hot minute but it was definitely worth the wait. The workers greeted us and were friendly! Go check this place out! Will not disappoint

So we was visiting and we were hungry and everyone wanted pizza. I wanted something different so my husband found this place. Anyways, pizza was really good and the chicken Alfredo was so freaking delicious. I had to use my hands to eat my chicken Parmesan they forgot the fork. But I will tell you it was so freaking amazing I almost cried. I have never eaten something so delicious I told my husband you can just tell that it was homemade. The pizza needs a tiny bit more sauce the crust fell apart but my kids don't like that part anyways but the rest of the pizza was gobbled up quickly.

If you haven't been to Panjo's Pizza Parlor in Corpus Christi, you're seriously missing out! This place is the oldest pizza joint in town. They opened their doors on September 1, 1964, so they'll be in business for 60 years this coming September, and it's still going strong. Service: The service here is top-notch. We came in for lunch, and even though the place was buzzing, the staff was super friendly and on the ball. We got in line to order food, placed our order within two or three minutes, and had our first pizza in about 25 minutes, which was excellent for how busy they were, in my opinion. Food: We went big with a large pepperoni and a large called "The Works" pizza. Both were absolutely delicious. The crust wasn't too thin or too thick--they got it exactly right, so the pizza had an excellent crunch to it. The sauce wasn't too thick or overly sweet. Panjo's is definitely in the top 10, probably the top five, in my opinion, for pizza in Corpus Christi. The prices are totally reasonable for handmade pizza, and you can taste the love in every bite. Ambience: The vibe at Panjo's is awesome. It's got this cool, old-school feel, and they even have a piano! It's like stepping back in time but with very modern TVs All in all, Panjo's Pizza Parlor is a gem. It's one of my top 10 pizza places in Corpus Christi, Texas, which include: 1. B&J Pizza - 6335 SPIDCC TX 2. Brooklyn Pie - 15326 SPID 3. Bubba's - 1921 SPID CC 4. MG's Pizza - 410 E Main Ave Robstown 5. Mesquite Street Comedy Club - 4535 SPID 6. Mesquite St - 615 N Mesquite Street 7. Panjo's Pizza Parlor - 1320 Airline Rd CC TX 8. Sam & Louie's - 4117 S Staples 9. Sal's Bronx Pizza - 5922 Yorktown Blvd 10. Tower Pizza - 14902 Trinity River Dr

When in Rockport and craving pizza, we wanted to support local instead of a chain restaurant, so we settled on Panjo's. It was low season for tourists, but for some reason it seemed like every citizen within the greater Rockport/Fulton region had congregated here on a Thursday night. We waited nearly two hours for two medium pizzas -- about 45 minutes longer than initially estimated, and 30 minutes longer than the time they said it would take after putting our pizzas in the oven. I feel like you probably should have a better handle on how long cooking a pizza will realistically take if you're in that line of work, but I digress. Heck if this pizza wasn't delicious. Sauce, generous toppings (ham and pineapple) were spot on. Nice thin, crisp crust. The dough could have used a pinch more flavor, but that's the only negative. I will allow that our level of hunger might have swayed us. But overall, I would definitely order from here again -- just leave PLENTY of time.
